New Encaustic Art Studio

Lori and Mike took an Advanced Encaustic Art Class from Linda Womack in October 2010 and they plan to put their new found knowledge to work in a new encaustic art studio that was recently created for that purpose. The studio will also be made available to friends and associates for the creation of charity donation pieces. Encaustic mixed-media pieces fetch higher prices than photographic fine art pieces and it is hoped that this will benefit the charities that they support.

The images on the web site are small. How large are the donation images?

[We put small images of the fine art on the web site so that they will load quickly into your Internet browser. We print our fine art pieces so that they will fit common frame sizes which include 5 x 7 inches, 8 x 10 inches, 11 x 14 inches, 16 x 20 inches and 20 x 24 inches. If you want the fine art images printed for larger frame sizes, we can arrange for that but additional costs will be involved.]

Is the copyright notice printed on the fine art prints?

[No. The copyright mark was added to the images on the web site to make it difficult for someone to steal our fine art images from the web site. It is illegal to make copies of images of fine art on the web site because of copyright protections. We are sorry that the copyright notice is placed on each fine art image but we have no other way to protect our rights against someone making illegal copies otherwise.]

What is a qualified charity?

[Not-for-profit organizations qualify as a charity if they have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to qualify as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. These organizations differ from other non-profit organizations because donations made to them are tax deductible for income tax purposes. Proof of this status is in the form of a Determination Letter from the Internal Revenue Service to the organization. Artistic Photo Expression requires proof of such status and also gives priority to qualifying organizations that provide services to children or for the benefit of children. We reserve the right to refuse or postpone the donation of our fine art to any organizaiton or individual.]

Can I purchase fine art pieces displayed in the fine art gallery on this web site??

[You can but we ask that you donate the purchase price in the form of a check to a qualifying charity. A qualifying charity has been determined to be a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service and we give priority to charities that provide benefits to children or diseases of children. If you don't have a favorite charity we recommend that you write your check to Easter Seals - Oregon and we will see that you get the piece of art and that Easter Seals - Oregon gets your donation.]

Why doesn't Artistic Photo Expression sell its fine art to the public?

[We prefer to use our fine art to support charities that are in need of funding during these tough economic times. It is a pleasure for us to share our travels and photography with people that appreciate it and at the same time we can support worthwhile charities. Our only regret is that we are limited by the high costs of frames and shipping.]

Who is behind Artistic Photo Expression?

[Mike and Lori Anderson created Artistic Photo Expression as a mechanism to donate their fine art in the support of charities. They have been making donations of fine art to charities since 2007 and their fine art has been used in silent and oral auction to raise funds for the charities. Since 2007, the donated fine art has helped raise thousands of dollars for charity.]

What inks and paper do you use to craft your fine art pieces?

[Currently we do not use photo labs to print our images. The reason is that we want to keep our costs as low as possible. However, we don't cut corners on quality. Our images are printed on quality paper and depending on the fine art piece we print on velvet fine art paper, watercolor paper and or canvas. We use Epson printers with high quality and long lasting pigment-based ink. This combination of paper and ink provides long life for our fine art pieces and according to Wilhelm Imaging Research our framed fine art, under glass, should maintain their beauty for over 100 years.]

Can I get a refund after purchasing fine art from Artistic Photo Expression?

The only exception to this may be if you reimburse us our cost in purchasing a frame for the piece of art you select. There are no refunds for frames and such purchases are done assist you with your donation and fine art purchase.]

I am a photographer. How can I contribute my fine art to help a charity?

[Artistic Photo Expression is not a charity so you don't want to send your photographs or fine art to us. However, we are connected to some worthy charities that may want to use your fine art pieces in their next fund raising event. We will be happy to provide input to you about your art and we will also be happy to connect you with a worthy charity fund raising event.]

Do you provide support to reward volunteers who help charities?

[We encourage volunteerism in the support of charities and community service organizations in the Pacific Northwest. We also provide small pieces of fine art in the form of desk art which charities can use to reward volunteers for their support. If you have volunteers in your organization that deserve an award of fine art, we might be able to help. Contact us so we can discuss your needs and what we can do.]
